Meltdown Tuesday

Well as expected, Meltdown Tuesday came and went... I should clarify...I din't expect yesterday to be "Meltdown Tuesday" but I have been around the "meltdown area" a time or two and I realize that with all that is going on...I'm gonna have a few MELTDOWN'S!  Let's see how this happened ... The plumber gave us the $22,000 estimate (which can OF COURSE be cut down a bit if you want to go with "lesser quality" items)  I'd like to add right here and now that I don't want to go with "lesser quality" items but I also don't want to pay $22,000.00 dollars for something you NEVER SEE!!!
The Harvard House Air conditioner decided that now was a really sell time to break down...it's only 90 degrees and 179% Humidity...(really, that was the humidity) as repair guy Brett said..."Well, the best we can hope for is that the fan motor doesn't go out because that will cost ANOTHER $500.00 - so after he fixed it up...the house started to cool, he left and 20 minutes later THE FAN MOTOR WENT OUT!!!
It's only money...
You can NOT clean up a demo job without a DRY/WET VAC... oh wait, that broke too...
Got a piece a glass to replace the one in the Harvard back door ... it was an 1/8" too big, drove back to the store, they re-cut it...put it in the frame and broke it... Drove back, got a new one, told George to put it in because the five cuts on my hand were killing me. Meanwhile, when I'm driving back to the hardware store, freaking out because they close at 6pm, I'm crying and sobbing because there are no more local hardware stores. Have you experienced this?  I don't always want to go to Home Depot or Lowes and they don't even cut glass into the exact size you want... the hardware store I go to now is still 15 minutes away via the expressway!!!  I know there are a few good Mom and Pop shops around, but no where near the amount there should be.  Blake called and asked what was wrong and I told her I was crying because there are no more hardware stores... She thinks I've lost it...I had.
Moving on... We should look at some snaps... this is boring...

So, I don't know if I've shown you the MASTER BATH yet but we are going to take a nice tour of it here...
I've got some questions and I'd love some feedback...
You should know that it's 11x12... I KNOW RIGHT??? THAT IS HUGE!!!!
Let's also remember that I am not Money Bag McGee and all the wonderful $30,000 bathroom ideas are not going to happen here... so get over it.

Here's a view from one angle...

Now the tub is actually a "special order" tub... it's 5' long on the inside...and in wonderful condition!  I'm not getting rid of it.  The toilet and the vanity are another story and they are leaving!!!

This is a snap of the outside wall and it has 2 full size windows and bows out and the wall cabinet...well, I'm not sure.  Some say KEEP IT... other's say GET RID OF IT.  What do you say?

You can see it way better here...

I love this cold air duct cover... that crazy Martha has all sorts of special treats and gems to show you!

This is from the dressing area hallway connecting the Master Bedroom to the Master Bathroom...

This little treat is a fun built in cabinet with a hidden pull up LAUNDRY SHOOT!  Yahhhhh, I love laundry shoots!

Which brings us to this....

This is the bathroom tile... Design wise... I'm not a fan.  With that said, I read something on the house blueprints and I just don't feel like I can remove it... Here's what it says... "Master Washroom will be last done.  Tile coming from Italy via boat.  Will not arrive for 8 - 12 weeks."  REALLY????  I can't take down the Italian tile that was brought here from Italy... Martha would be SO angry and quite frankly, I think I'd be doing wrong.  I've got to find a way to keep it and like it.  What are your thoughts, ideas, concerns?
Well, it's been great having lunch with you today but I've got to get back to my day job... btw, I'm leaving for California for a 4 day trip for work but don't worry, I will try to keep blogging while I'm out there.
I've been hoarding some good snaps just for the occasion. Let me hear what you think...
Discuss among yourselves.

Peace,
C

Keep the wall cabinets, keep the Italian tile. Great tub! That's a laundry chute, I think. Gotta love the upside-down shelf above the vanity....NOT. Pedestal sink, or go with the trendy old low chest of drawers with a proud-standing basin on top. too bad toilets with wall-mounted tanks are rare these days. (LM)
