Houston we have a problem

Okay...I have a problem.  Well not really a problem but a dilemma.  For the past two years I made a deal with myself...For every new thing I get, I have to get rid of something else.  If I get a new top, I have to get rid of an old top.  If I get something for the house I have to get rid of an old treasure.  And to my surprise, I have been faithful to this mantra.  I have even gotten rid of more than one thing when I've only purchased one thing.  Well, now I am to the point where all of my tops that were missing a button, had a slight stain (or not so slight), or just haven't worn for more than a year are GONE!  I am serious about this... as in, I got a pack of 6 pairs of underwear at Christmas and took 6 pairs and threw them out! (I don't like to give Goodwill underwear...oooohhhhhh)
Problem...I only have 8 pairs of underwear now!  I have one drawer in my dresser that is empty.  I love that feeling.  I love that I have an empty drawer.  I feel very good about it.  It makes me smile.  I DO NOT care for the underwear situation.  I was thinking that I needed to get some more underwear and I looked around to see what I could rid of...I looked again.  I made sure I had all of my clean clothes upstairs and not down in the laundry room... didn't help.  I moved into my summer clothes and had a large sigh of relief.  Those yellow shorts that say "treasure" across the back bottom are DONE like dinner!  Why did I buy those in the first place?  That gets me one pair...I was hoping for 3 pairs.  Keep searching.  Ohhh, what do we have here??? That is a cotton, spaghetti strapped mini bed dress...and look...one of the straps is torn!  Yes, I am that sexy... Now I can get two pairs.  Okay there has to be one more thing I can live without...and there they are.  Striped Cotton pajama pants.  Bleach spot, coffee stain and an teeny tiny tear in the crotch.  Any takers?  LOL.. So three pairs of underwear coming my way.
So what's the problem Cherie?  Well, after Christmas I really did have to dig deep and now I'm at a dead end.  I can't get anything new without tapping into my "I wear this all the time" stuff.  So don't get anything new Cherie.  Problem solved.  How long can I go without getting a deal of a lifetime at Target?  Please!  How long could you go?  Ask yourselves...how long can you go without buying something new?  Food doesn't count and neither does laundry/bathroom /cleaning, after that, it counts.  I want to know how long you can go.  Disclosure; I did purchase some more scrapping things but I went through and gave a large bag of scrap stuff to my neighbor.
So let's hear it.  Are you willing to clean out your closet? Maybe just a drawer?  You'll be amazed at how freeing it is to get rid of  "stuff".  I can't wait to hear what you're getting rid of!

Peace out  my clutter busters!

The other day I took everything out of my room and reorganized. I donated everything that I haven't worn in over a year. It was so freeing. My room is the cleanest its ever been! I have a few empty drawers and I can actually see my floor and know exactly what clothes I have. Every time I go into my room now I love it. It is hard to get motivated but once you start and see the end result its totally worth it!! love the blogs cant wait for more!

Cherie, give to get is a great way to declutter. I have a very, very stylish friend who never buys anything new. Everything she and her family wears she buys second hand. So here's the question: Do you give up something everytime you buy something second hand? Seems like there should be some sort of earth wise multiplier for only bringing home repurposed items.
